How
to Earn Back Your Fundraising Assessment
As
part of NYAC fees, each family is assessed a Fundraising fee which is based on
the highest group level of a swimmer in the family: $300 ($150 for Intro Level).
There
are many fundraising opportunities to earn back this assessment. Any monies raised
over and above the assessment will be split with the club on a 50/50 basis and
credited towards the following year's fees. The current opportunities are outlined
below. We hope to bring you more in the near future.
Loblaws
Gift Cards
About
the program NYAC sells Loblaws gift cards to families at face value. 3%
from the sale of the gift card goes towards the family's fundraising account.
For example, if you were to purchase $100 of Loblaws gift cards, $3.00 would be
credited towards your NYAC account.
Purchase & Delivery Cards
will be available for purchase on a regular basis at the Douglas Snow and Havergal
pools on Saturday mornings during practice. Please email me a few days in advance
to ensure I bring enough cards to each pool. Please make cheques payable to "NYAC"
Shop
& Support Gift Cards
About
the program NYAC sells various retail gift cards to families at face value.
Each card returns a percentage of the face value as fundraising "profit".
This "profit" varies from 1.5% to 15%, depending on the retailer and
special promotions throughout the year. This year we are using a bulk order process
(by the club) to help offset the high cost of shipping. As such, we will adjust
our bulk orders throughout the year, depending on the popularity of certain cards.
The fundraising profit will be split 50/50 with NYAC. For example, if you were
to purchase $100 of Metro gift cards at 3%, then $1.50 would go to NYAC and $1.50
would be credited towards your fundraising assessment (applied to next year's
fees). Purchase
& Delivery Cards will be available for purchase on a regular basis
at Douglas Snow on Saturday mornings during practice. We plan to make available
grocery, gas, coffee, pharmacy, restaurant, movies and other select retailers.
Please email me a few days in advance to check that I have the cards you would
like and to arrange pick-up. Please make cheques payable to "NYAC".

About the program
Each family is required to raise a minimum of $100 for the annual
Swim-a-thon. Most clubs in Ontario participate in the Swim-a-thon
in the Spring as a way of support for the sport of swimming and
as a method of financial support for the club. More details will
be provided closer to the event.
