Coach - Aquatic Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department 1 Full time position. Department mission The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services. The Pointe-Claire Swim Club has been a leader in Canadian swimming for more than 30 years. A large number or world record holders and Olympic medallists got their start in the City of Pointe-Claire. More than 400 swimmers take part in our program, including 160 in the Bouts de choux program. Responsibilities and goals associated with the position Reporting to the Head Coach, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and supervising athletes 11-12 and the Sport-Etudes program (60kids promotion and Development), ensuring their development and continuing the tradition of excellence and enthusiasm that has characterized our Club for decades. The jobholder’s main responsibilities are as follows: ? Setting up training programs and planning the season; ? Training and preparing athletes for competitions; ? Working in collaboration with the Head Coach; ? Teaching proper swimming techniques; ? Attending weekly meetings; ? Communicating with parents; ? Registering athletes in various competitions; ? Performing all other related tasks. Requirements ? 4 year of experience as an athletics coach with children aged 16 and under; ? High school diploma; ? Level 1-2-3 NCCP will be considered an asset; ? National Lifeguard Certificate; ? Formal swim training; ? Good communicator with demonstrated enthusiasm for working with youth; ? Ability to work in a team setting; ? Organizational skills; ?
