As stated in the Fees Policy, participation in Club fundraising is voluntary.

Over the course of each swim year, the Fundraising Committee provides a number of fundraising opportunities to those families who wish to participate. Past activities have included sales of chocolate bars, magazines, and flowers.

Members who participate in a given fundraising opportunity receive a credit in their Travel Account which is calculated as follows:
• 100% of net proceeds from their portion of the event’s sales is credited, until total amount credited for the year equals the fundraising assessment for the family;
• Thereafter, 80% of net proceeds from their portion of the event’s sales is credited to the Travel Account, with the remainder staying with the Club.

An opportunity is also provided to obtain event sponsorships for the summer (Hauch) swim meet; 80% of net proceeds from sponsorships is credited to the Travel Account, with the remainder staying with the Club

Swim families exempt from Fundraising may choose to participate in any/ all of the opportunities: 80% of net proceeds from their participation is credited to the Travel Account, with the remainder staying with the Club.

Silent Auctions

Silent auctions may be held in conjunction with some of the larger home meets. Parents can contribute articles which are then auctioned off during the meet. A list of suggested auction items is provided as well as a sample Corporate Donation letter that can be used to obtain donations.

Cheese Fundraiser

Cheese makes a great Christmas gift for a friend, relative or even for yourself. 30% of the value of each sale goes towards the club and those selling cheese have an opportunity to win prizes. Order forms are due by November 14th, 2008. Payment must accompany order cash or cheque made payable to London Aquatic Club. Please give completed orders with payment to Cindy Jensen. Delivery date for cheese order is November 28th, 2008. Pick up time and location TBA.

Christmas Fundraiser - Poinsettias

Each year in October, the poinsettia fundraiser is announced. Approximately 25% of the order value is credited back to the swimmer's travel account.

Last year the forms need to be completed and returned to Catherine Ebbs by Sunday, November 11, 2007. The pick up date was Friday, November 30th 2007 after 12:00 at 660 Cranbrook Rd. Should you need any further information please do not hesitate to email Catherine at cebbs@sympatico.ca .

Magazine Subscriptions

The magazine sales fundraiser is the first fundraiser of the swim season and packages are often given out at registration time.

This is a great opportunity to help offset the fundraising fee as 37% of your subscriptions go directly to your travel account. Parent Info Magazine Form

Swim-A-Thon

Swim-a-thon packages are available to all LAC families from Joanne Mitchell. You have until late March to obtain your pledges and early May to submit them to Joanne Mitchell. The actual marathon swim (200 lengths of the pool) will occur in late , March, 2009. This is an opportunity for your children to tell their neighbours, relatives and friends about swimming and obtain pledges.

Spring Flowers

The Spring flower fundraiser forms are located here. Should you have multiple orders please submit ONE form only with the total numbers and payment for all orders you have received. All monies must be submitted with the forms before your order can be added to the master list. The deadline date for submission of your orders each year, falls around mid-April.

We need three to four, five or six, volunteers for pick-up day to help sort the orders and have them ready. If you are able to help on that day please let me know.

Bingo

The Club runs a number of Bingos each year. Money earned is added to general Club revenue. Volunteers at these non-smoking events are required between 5 pm and 9:30 pm to sell and supervise bingo events. No experience is required. To volunteer please contact Marybeth Hopkins at 519-472-9322.

Hauch Sponsorships

Our last hosted swim meet, Dr Paul Hauch Invitational Swim Meet, LAC offers an advertising fundraiser to assist families with their swimmer’s travelling expenses. Since the new outdoor 50m pool is being built at Thames Pool in South London, this year's swim meet will be held at Canada Games Aquatic Centre on July 11-12, 2009.

Attached you will find the Dr Paul Hauch Advertising Fundraiser file in PDF format. All the information you will need to sell ads is included. Please note that there are changes from last year. We have three (3) ad sizes available this season to match our 2009 Meet Package for Hauch.
Each swimming family directly benefits from obtaining advertising sponsors: 80% of each ad sold (minus the 5% GST) is credited to the swimming family’s travel account; and the remaining 20% is used by the Club to help lower club related expenses at our meet.

The fundraiser package details what the ad sponsor will receive for each ad size. The event listings are comments added in under the event number and name but before the records and swimmer heat information in the program. In addition for what is listed, we insert a Thank You page listing all the sponsors for our meet alphabetically in the meet program. This Thank You page is blown up, laminated and posted at CGAC during the meet. As we ask for volunteers for Hauch, we look for a marshalling person who will announce the marshalling of events along with the sponsors business names.

Please make sure that the Sponsor Information Sheet is attached to each ad copy. Deadline to receive ad copy and info sheet is Tuesday June 30th, 2009.

Corporate Sponsorships

Members are encouraged to solicit corporate sponsorship for LAC-hosted meets, Training Camps, etc. The corporate sponsorship information package is presented to the potential sponsor by a delegation consisting of a Sponsorship Committee member, a coach, and (if applicable) the member contact.

When a swimming family is the initial contact for a corporate sponsor, a one-time “finder’s fee” is credited to the Travel Account of the swimming member when that sponsor signs for a three-year term.
