Message from our
Past NYAC President

June 2008

Marjie Chud
Past NYAC President
I have mixed feelings as I write this note for the website. As of the June Board meeting, I am the official Past President of NYAC. I have had the privilege of being in this role for three years and will miss it tremendously, however, there is no doubt that the club is in great hands with the incoming President, Natalie Lychy at the helm and the mix of returning and new Directors of the Board. Along with Head Coach Murray and the coaching staff, Olga Macel, the many parent volunteers, and our exceptional swimmers, 2008-2009 promises to be another fantastic year! Read more...

Head Coach Report

April 2008

Team Champs in Nepean

Murray Drudge
NYAC Head Coach

NYAC was just out-scored for third place in an exciting finish on the last day.

We had great results from a number of our age group swimmers, including the 10 and under boys who scored 70 points, not including relays. These boys were led by Alex Lutor (34 points) and Yi Wen Li (26 points). The 11-12 boys were awesome and matched the 15-17 boys, with 101 points in each age group. Nathaniel Hu was the big point scorer with 40 points in the 11-12 group. Michelle Williams, earning 42 points, was again very strong as our top scorer for the meet. Just back from Olympic Trials two weeks earlier, she won four events, including the 100 Fly with a new club record of 1:01:63. This would have placed her 5th in the final at Trials - an amazing swim for her! Read more...

2008 Eastern Canadian Championships

February 2008

Murray Drudge
NYAC Head Coach
Well done all National group swimmers for an outstanding display at Easterns. Etobicoke hosted the Eastern Champs for 2008 and it was held in long course due to the Olympic Trials on April 1 to 6 in Montreal. This was the last major preparation meet for swimmers to get used to LC before the Trials. The site was well chosen as Etobicoke is arguably the fastest LC pool in the country and we really needed a boost as we are still in short course season. Let's now get ready to finish off the last cycle into Montreal in preparation for the Trials. Read more...
