Stellar Season Ending Performance

In a competitive swimmer's life, true joy comes from an exhaustive process of tackling serious challenges. For the past two months the National Development Group and the Provincial 1 Group have taken on and attempted to meet the serious goals they set for themselves at the beginning of the season. It is usually with great apprehension and worry when young swimmers compete in the concluding meets of the season. In these events they are competing against the best swimmers in the province and all of their work and determination are given one final measure. There are many days in our lives that we can take or leave, when nothing really happens, but in these few days, everything seems to happen.

For our National Development and Provincial 1 swimmers, the Central Region Champs on Feb 28, at the Olympium, the Provincial Championships on March 2 in London, along with a trip on March 6 to compete in Pittsburgh for their Age Group Championships provided real challenges for the conclusion to the short course season. Their results at these three meets were magical with club records, provincial championships medal performances and personal bests being constantly recorded. They displayed the ingredients of hard work, competitive focus and talent, a powerful mixture to produce simply outstanding results. Our National Development and Provincial 1 swimmers, at the most competitive meets of the season, when it really mattered, defined themselves as first rate competitors, swimmers of substance, on a steady course destined for success.

The real story is found in the wonderful details of these three meets below:
