CSCTA Changes Name to CSCA; Belsh, 3 others Elected to Board

Posted 2020-05-13

The CSCTA held its Annual General Meeting electronically on Tuesday May 12, 2020 for the 2018-2019 fiscal year ending August 31, 2019.  There were 59 voting delegates and 11 observers in attendance.

In addition to the regular business of the AGM the voting delegates passed three motions approving proposed changes to the CSCTA Bylaws.  These motions included changing the name of the Association from the Canadian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association (CSCTA) to the Canadian Swimming Coaches Association (CSCA).  With this approval we will begin making the required changes to our website, email addresses, policies and other locations.  This change does not invalidate any action taken by the CSCTA pursuant to any previous Bylaws.

Elections also took place for the CSCA Board of Directors with 4 positions open for elections.  Elected to the Board included a new member of the Board in Marta Belsh (New Brunswick) along with returning members Ron Campbell, Peter Carpenter and Ryan Mallette.  We would like to welcome Marta and congratulate her on being elected to the CSCA Board of Directors.

The CSCA would like to thank Greg Arkhurst for his service as a member of the Board of Directors for the past 5 years and wish him well in all his future endeavours.  Greg served as a Director at Large since being first elected at the Extraordinary General Meeting in August 2015.

Thank you to all the Members who attended the AGM and for their patience in allowing us to navigate the landscape of an electronic AGM.
