It was the day after the Olympic Trials, where CAMO Swim club saw its best results ever, that
Claude St-Jean bowed out as head coach of CAMO, by placing two athletes, Katerine Savard and
Mary-Sophie Harvey, on the Olympic team.
After 26 years at the head of CAMO, Claude will have definitively changed the club’s status by
implanting a culture of excellence with a human face, as evidenced by the qualification of 6 of his
athletes for the Olympic Games during his career, his multiple participations such as coach at the
Olympics, World Championships, as well as his induction into the Quebec swimming Hall of Fame.
The transfer of powers will be made to the one who has been his right hand during the last 12
years, and who played an important part in the influence and performance of the club. It is
therefore only natural that the Board of directors of Camo Swim club has entrusted the reins of
the team, from this day forward, to Greg Arkhurst.
The symbiosis that existed between the two men, the cornerstone of the club’s success, could
continue for a long time to come, since Greg will be able to find in Claude the assistant coach who
will support him on a daily basis.
The Board of directors is infinitely grateful for the work of Claude St-Jean, and is extremely excited
and confident to see Greg Arkhurst carry on the tradition of high performance that characterizes
Camo Swimming.
