Canadian Swimming Coaches Association (CSCA) and Swimming Canada Partner to offer “Assistant Coach” Opportunities at Multiple Events

The Assistant Coach role will give the selected coaches the opportunity to work within the National Development and Para swimming teams at staging camp and international competition settings.

The CSCA will invest up to $10 000 in this initiative for 2023 to help cover expenses for opportunities at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships and World Para Swimming World Series.

“The CSCA is excited to continue this program in 2023 and to offer funding towards several national team opportunities” said CSCA Executive Director Chris Hindmarch-Watson.  “This program will continue to expose our Canadian coaches to real world, international experiences as they are included as a full member of national team programs.  This program, and the related reporting, helps to further enhance our ongoing delivery of professional development opportunities.  We thank Swimming Canada for their continued partnership on this activity."

“Our coaches are the backbone of our sport and their dedication, commitment and professionalism is vital”  said Swimming Canada Associate Director of High Performance and Para Swimming National Coach Wayne Lomas.  “Our partnership is proud to facilitate the further development of coaches who work so hard behind the scenes.”

“I would like to thank the CSCA for their continued support in partnering with Swimming Canada to support, develop and recognize coaches. said Swimming Canada High Performance Director John Atkinson.  “This program was a great success when run in 2018, 2019 and 2022 and we will look to continue these offerings in the future.”

The application deadline for all opportunities is Friday June 9, 2023.
