JY LAWRENCE ELECTED TO FIRST TERM AT CSCA AGM
The Canadian Swimming Coaches Association (CSCA) hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM), on December 6, 2023. The meeting saw the approval of key amendments to the CSCA Bylaws and four individuals elected to the Board of Directors.
Jy Lawrence, previously serving as the Appointed Director since June 2023, has been elected to her first term on the Board of Directors. Lawrence brings a wealth of experience to her new role, and the CSCA looks forward to benefiting from her expertise in the coming years.
Additionally, the association is delighted to announce the re-election of Peter Carpenter, Marta Belsh, and Ryan Mallette to the CSCA Board of Directors. Their continued dedication and contributions are crucial to the ongoing success of the CSCA.
The AGM also marked the conclusion of Ron Campbell's term on the Board. Campbell, who first joined in early 2018, replaced Jeff Slater and was subsequently elected to three consecutive terms. Throughout his tenure, Campbell played a pivotal role in the Governance portfolio. The CSCA extends its sincere gratitude to Ron for his outstanding service and commitment.
The CSCA Membership demonstrated their commitment to progress by approving the proposed changes to the association's Bylaws, effective immediately. The main amendment extends the term limits for elected Board members from two years to three, providing increased stability and continuity in leadership.
In an effort to better align with the association's fiscal year-end on August 31, the CSCA made the strategic decision to move its AGM from the traditional Spring timeframe to December. This adjustment ensures that the AGM serves as a comprehensive reflection of the organization's activities throughout the fiscal year.
The Canadian Swimming Coaches Association looks forward to the continued growth and success of the organization under the guidance of its newly elected and re-elected board members. The CSCA looks forward to continuing to serve and support the swimming coaching community in Canada.
