CSCA Holds AGM and Announces New Board Leadership
The Canadian Swimming Coaches Association (CSCA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on January 22, 2025, where members re-elected Carl Simonson, Cathy Pardy, and Lance Cansdale to the Board of Directors. Additionally, Jeremy Dumora was elected to his first term on the Board.
Following the AGM, the Board determined the term lengths for each Director in accordance with CSCA Bylaws. Carl Simonson and Jeremy Dumora will each serve three-year terms, Cathy Pardy will serve a two-year term, and Lance Cansdale will serve a one-year term.
In February, the Board convened and elected Carl Simonson as the new President of the CSCA. Upon assuming the role, Simonson shared his enthusiasm for leading the organization:
"It is an honor to take on the role of President at such an exciting time for CSCA. I look forward to working with my fellow Board members and the broader coaching community to continue strengthening our sport and supporting our coaches at all levels."
The newly elected Executive Committee will include:
- Peter Carpenter – 1st Vice President
- Marta Belsh – 2nd Vice President
- Cathy Pardy – Treasurer
- Jy Lawrence – Secretary
The Board also unanimously voted to appoint Vlastimil Cerny as the Appointed Director, as per the CSCA Bylaws. Cerny expressed his enthusiasm for continuing his work with the organization:
"I am thrilled to continue serving with CSCA and contributing to the development and support of coaches across Canada. Our collective efforts will help ensure a strong future for swimming in our country."
Newly elected Board member Jeremy Dumora shared his excitement about joining CSCA leadership:
"I am truly honored to be elected to the CSCA Board. Coaching plays a vital role in the success of Canadian swimming, and I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to advocate for and support the coaching community in meaningful ways."
